Who are your counselors?

Our staff is made up of high school and college students as well as teachers. Many staff members return each year. All staff attend professionally conducted training and criminal back ground checks are conducted on all staff.

How often do the children get to go in the pool?

Every camper gets at least two opportunities to go in the pool each day. Every morning they have swim lessons and then there is a recreational swim time after lunch. This is when the children get to use the water toys and the tube slides.

What if I can't afford the fees for camp?

The YMCA has a financial assistance program called YCares . This program allows those in need to apply for assistance. Anyone can apply and aid is distributed on a sliding scale, based on need.

Do you have door to door bus service?

We do offer bus service and it is included in the registration fee, but it is not door to door. Pre-determined stops are selected based on enrollment and need for the following areas: Asbury, Brick, Belmar, Howell, Manasquan and Wall.

Is lunch for my child provided?

No. We ask that you pack your child a lunch and make sure their name is on it. We will separate them according to group and store them in refrigerators until lunchtime. Campers also have an opportunity to buy snacks from our camp store.

What happens if my child gets hurt?

We have certified professionals on staff all summer to handle injury. If a camper gets seriously hurt, parent(s) will be contacted immediately. If it a minor injury (small bump or scrap) parents will be notified by the days end.

If I can't make it to pick my child up can my neighbor?

If for any reason you can not pick up your child, we will only release your child to one of the named adults on the release card returned with registration. We require identification from anyone who picks up a child and under no circumstances will we release a child to a person not listed on the parent/guardian submitted form.

How will I know if my child likes camp?

You will know when they come home with a smile on their face and tell you about the new friends they have made. You will also be able to tell when they go to bed without being told.
