The Counseling & Social Services Outpatient Office offers treatment for issues related to mental health and/or substance abuse and does not discriminate against any individual for reasons of financial inability to pay for services, race, creed, color, socio-economic background, age, gender, etc.  Fees for outpatient services are based on a sliding scale.

We serve those individuals in need of mental health care and/or directly affected by alcohol, drugs and/or other substances, as well as family members and other loved ones. Each person, who seeks the services from this agency, is screened for initial eligibility. Age restrictions apply to children under 3. Medication monitoring is not offered to anyone who is not simultaneously receiving counseling services at this agency.

Participants must be willing to adhere to the required policies of this program, including random urine screening at the discretion of the Primary Counselor.

Other eligibility criteria are as follows:

  • Residents of Monmouth County (other communities in Middlesex, will be considered on a case by case basis and only allowed admission provided transportation will not pose a problem).
  • Both sexes, ages three years of age through older adults.
  • Must be able to benefit from the level of services offered by Counseling and Social Services.
  • Must be stable; not experiencing immediate suicidal/homicidal ideas.
  • Must be willing to participate in treatment planning and the ongoing provisions of services.
  • Children from other counties can be referred by NJ Department of Children’s Behavioral Health Services representatives.
  • Parental permission is required for minors under 18 years of age.
  • Parents of younger children are required to participate in specific sessions.
  • Financial assistance is available for all who show a demonstrated need. No individual is turned away due to the inability to pay.
