    Wall, NJ (May 22, 2013) – Children at The Community YMCA’s Camp Zehnder in Wall Township will be able to enjoy a new playground this summer, designed with input from kids and built by community volunteers with generous support from the nonprofit  KaBOOM! and Disney.

    Local students representing The Community YMCA were named Outstanding Delegation at the annual YMCA Youth and Government Conference April 12-14 at the historic statehouse in Trenton, NJ.  This is the third consecutive year that the Y’s delegates have received this honor.

Governor Kim Guadagno and representatives from the state Department of Children and Families (DCF) joined local officials at the Union Beach Memorial Library on April 2 to announce that The Community YMCA has received $300,000 in state funding to open the Bayshore Family Success Center to serve local families in need of support services.

    The Y Achievers program has helped nearly 1,000 area teens each their fullest potential by giving them guidance and support for college and careers. Now in its seventh year, the program has just expanded to three more schools in Monmouth and Ocean counties, providing more opportunities for teen achievement.
