Art Instructors (clay & sculpture, painting, cartooning, book designer)

  • Flexible working hours must be available between the hours of 2:30pm to 5pm.
  • Responsible for the preparation and implementation of their program. 
  • Have the educational background and/or professional experience to teach the program.
  • Must provide up to date, field specialized / state certification that corresponds with the desired position.
  • Maintain valid certifications at all times
  • Have experience working with children and adults. 
  • Prepare and facilitate developmentally appropriate activities for their program/class.
  • Be able to multi-task, show initiative and require minimal supervision. 
  • Have an outgoing and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Set up class space, clean up after class, and store materials properly. 
  • Monitor the safety of all activities.
  • Assist with evaluating the program’s success.
  • Comply with The Community YMCA’s Code of Conduct
  • Reliable Transportation

Trainings and Staff Meetings:

The Instructor is to attend all mandatory trainings and staff meetings.  (i.e. New Staff Orientation, Child Abuse Prevention, etc.) within the required time frame.
