05-Lifeguard Pretest
Red Bank Family Health & Fitness Center
Ages 15 and up
- This is a mandatory pre-test for all participants 15 & older who would like to take the A.R.C. Lifeguard Training Course. Swimmers must successfully complete the following swimming prerequisites: (#1) Swim 300 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing.(#2) Tread water for 2 min. using ONLY the legs. (#3) Complete the following timed event within 1min. & 40 sec.: Starting in the water, swim 20 yards using frontcrawl or breaststroke, surface dive 7-10 feet to retrieve a 10 pound brick, return to the surface & swim 20 yards on their back to return to the starting point with both hands holding the brick at all times. (#4)Exit the water without using a ladder or steps. Once Participants pass the pretest, they will allow to register for training that fits their schedule. If a participant fails a pretest they have the option of registering for the Lifeguard Swim Training Course for an additional fee.

20.1-Make Your Own Class

- This class is perfect for families or friends who want their children to participate in the same class but cannot find a class that fits their schedule or with availability. Participants should be at the same swim level. Privce is for eight, 30-minute sessions, class size up to 4 participants and need to be paid in full at the time of booking. Time availability is subjected to change

25-Special Private Lessons for Special People

- This one-one-one 30 minute aquatic program, taught by our Y Swim Instructors is ideal for special needs children. Lessons are adapted to each child's specific needs and limitations.

28-Adult Beginner Swim Lesson

- This is the chance for you to catch up to your kids-don't put off learning to swim for one more day! The YMCA's Aquatics staff will help you gain the confidence you need to learn the strokes and swim into a healthier lifestyle. This class is for the non-swimmer and is taught in the Huber Pool.

29-Adult Intermediate Swim Lessons

- This class is for the beginner swimmer looking to become comfortable in deep water and work on stroke development. The YMCA's Aquatics Staff will help you gain the confidence you need to swim in deep water and help your stroke development.

30- Adult Stroke Improvement /Beginner Master

Ages 18 and up
- Master swim 45 minute workouts are a terrfic, non-weight-bearing way to improve your cardiovascular sustem and stay fit. Our coaches will help swimmers to finesse stroke techniques, improve endurance, and encourage a healthy and safe swim routine. There is not need to be an extraordinary swimmer; you just need to enjoy swimming.

- This program is for the adult swimmer who can swim all four competitive strokes. The focus of this program is training and stroke development.

32- Y Tri-Swimming

Ages 18 and up
- Are you a beginner or advanced swimmer lokking for a swim clinic to complement your triathlon training goals? Would you like to build your skills, technique, confidence and endurance for your next triathlon, but worry about the swimming portion of the competition? The course is designed to complement the already training tri-athlete's workout. Participants will learn and improve swimming skills and techniques necessary for endurance training. Specific open-water drills, activities and simulations are planned. PREREQUISITE: Athletes must be able to swim one length of the pool with out the assistance of a floatation device.
